Control Yuan Recommendations Boosted State Coffers by NT$6.5 Billion in 2017: Performance Review Meeting

Control Yuan President Chang Po-ya chaired the CY’s 2017 Performance Review Meeting on Jan. 30, 2018. It marked the first meeting attended by the 11 new CY members with the 18 incumbent members, and President Chang extended a warm welcome to the new members, who were recently approved by the Legislative Yuan.
During the meeting, the auditor general and each committee convener delivered a briefing on work performance over the past year, improvement review, and future goals, providing attending members with a better understanding of the operations and performance of each committee and the National Audit Office, as well as of the cooperation between the Control Yuan and NAO. The CY members offered advice regarding circuit supervision, practical investigation procedures, human resources allocation, and various administrative operations and procedures, to serve as a reference for future improvement.
For the whole of 2017, the various government ministries and agencies saved the state coffers a total of NT$6.5 billion, including NT$6.06 billion in additional revenue and NT$450 million in reduced spending, by following recommendations of corrective measures proposed by the Control Yuan. The ministries and agencies proposed a total of 667 concrete improvement measures and 134 revisions or additions to regulations in response to CY recommendations.
