The 11th issue of the English edition of the Control Yuan Newsletter is published on January 1, 2026. This edition features the Control Yuan’s latest institutional affairs, human rights initiatives, visits by foreign delegations, and global engagement. It aims to strengthen connections and expand the Control Yuan’s global visibility within the international ombudsman and human rights communities.
This issue compiles major updates on the Control Yuan hosting the 37th Australasian Pacific Ombudsman Region (APOR) Conference; attending the 29th Ibero-American Ombudsperson Federation (FIO) Conference and the Third Meeting of International Ombudsman Institute’s Standing By-Laws Committee; co-hosting an International Virtual Symposium on “AI and Human Rights” with Paraguay’s Office of the Ombudsman, conducting inspections of the Executive Yuan and the National Palace Museums; receiving visits from Peru’s ombudsman and Professor Yasuhiro Matsuda of the University of Tokyo; the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) co-hosting the“Human Rights in Asia: A Multigenerational Dialogue ” Forum with the Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation; and attending the 30th Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions (APF) Annual General Meeting and Biennial Conference.
