The 12th issue of the English edition of the Control Yuan Newsletter is published on July 1, 2026. This edition features the Control Yuan’s latest institutional affairs, human rights initiatives, visits by foreign delegations, and global engagement. It aims to strengthen connections and expand the Control Yuan’s global visibility within the international ombudsman and human rights communities.
This issue compiles major updates on the Control Yuan’s recent work and activities, including a keynote speech delivered at the Control Yuan by Dr. José Alejandro Córdova, Ombudsman General of the Guatemalan Human Rights Ombudsman’s Office; the National Human Rights Commission’s release of its Independent Assessment of the Fifth CEDAW National Report; the debut of human rights posters at Taoyuan International Airport; visits to Acting President Lee Hung-chun by delegations led by former President of Japan’s House of Councillors Akiko Santo and by the Oita Prefecture Japan-Taiwan Friendship Diet Members’ League; the Control Yuan’s participation in the 4th and 5th meetings of the International Ombudsman Institute’s Standing By-Laws Committee, the Control Yuan’s hosting of the “AI × Digital Audit Innovation Applications” workshop and its 2025 Annual Review Meeting.
