President Wang Chien-shien of the Control Yuan met members of the National Development Superior Delegation on October 8, 2010. The delegation from the Ministry of National Defense included 25 superior chiefs from the army and air force of several nations in Central and South America. The main purpose of this visit was to understand the functions and powers of the Control Yuan. President Wang mentioned that he has visited nations such as Paraguay, Nicaragua and Dominican Republic before and felt very delighted to see friends from those nations. During the visit, Mr. Funes, the Vice Minister of National Defense of Honduras, praised the achievements of the anti-corruption and supervision operations of the Control Yuan. The members of the delegation also exchanged opinions on issues of jurisdiction, functions and powers of the Control Yuan as well as features of the constitutional five-power system in Taiwan. Afterwards the members of the delegation visited the historic architecture and documents exhibition of the Control Yuan. In conclusion, President Wang wished the members a wonderful trip in Taiwan, he also hoped that all the members could contribute to building a world of ever lasting peace.
