A Control Yuan delegation led by President Chang Po-ya, Members Chen Hsiao-hung and Wang Mei-yu visited Jakarta, Indonesia from November 28 to December 2. The delegation visited Komnas HAM (National Commission on Human Rights of Indonesia), Ombudsman RI, BNP2TKI (National Board for the Placement and Protection of Indonesian Overseas Workers), and Human Rights Working Group. The main purpose of the trip is to strengthen bilateral ties with Komnas HAM and enhance exchanges with both governmental and non-governmental human rights bodies in Indonesia.
In Jakarta, the delegation also visited the Tzu Chi Foundation Indonesia, met with the local Taiwanese business community, and inspected the Taipei Economic and Trade Office to gain a better understanding of our humanitarian, trade and diplomatic work there. According to TETO, President Chang is the highest ranking ROC official to have visited the country in recent years.
