Control Yuan President Wang Chien-shien, accompanied by the Vice President Chen Chin-li and the Control Yuan member Li Bing-nan, met with the President of the Salvador Court of Audit Mr. Marcos Sanchez on the afternoon of December 10. President Wang extended a warm welcome to the guests and they exchanged ideas on the work of auditing and supervision system.
President Wang and President Sanchez both agree that a sound auditing system ensures a better execution of government budgets and further leads to a strengthened democracy. It is always discouraging when finding that the budget is squandered. However, President Wang stressed that auditors and investigators should let the evidence reveal the truth. Conclusions shall always be made when full evidence is at hand.
President Sanchez said that even though he just arrived in Taiwan, he has been already amazed by the development of the country as well as the organized structure of the Control Yuan. He also answered the question raised by Member Li about the process of auditing system in Salvado.
Before leaving, Mr. Sanchez enjoyed a guided tour of the display room and learned more about the powers and the history of the Control Yuan.
