11.Approval of opening, changing, and closing political accounts, and to review accounting report of political contributions
According to the Political Contributions Law, the Control Yuan is responsible for handling political contribution disclosures. Political parties, political groups and candidates shall open political contribution accounts at banks or post offices. They shall also note the name of the bank or post offices, address, account number and account name then report to the Control Yuan. After approved by the Control Yuan, the account can be in use for collecting political contributions. The Control Yuan shall make a public announcement after approving. Each political parties, political group or candidate shall have only one political contribution account, which shall not be changed or closed without the approval of the Control Yuan.
Based on the stipulations, the accounting reports of the political parties and political groups shall be sent to the Control Yuan for disclosure before May 31 every year and shall be audited and commented by accountants. The accounting reports of candidates shall be sent to the Control Yuan for disclosure within two months after voting date. If candidates received the amount of money to NT$ 8 million, they shall entrust accountants with audit and comments. The Control Yuan will put accounting reports in volume, publish in the gazette or newspaper and post on the website for reference within three months after the deadline of disclosure. Those who violate the stipulation will be punished.
